Óme is a duet performance by dancer and choreographer Silje Onstad Hålien and musician Sivert Holmen. Kari-Anne Bjerkestrand served as the artistic supervisor, and Sivert Holmen is the composer. The piece evolves around the word and theme “Óme”, meaning the echo or the reverb of a tone, the subtle sound within silence—the piece also explores how “Óme” can be translated into movement. How does the fiddle fill the room, and what is left in dance when sound dies away? The piece also explores differences and similarities between music and dance, musician and dancer.
