Britt Pernille Frøholm’s album «Fokhaugen» was awarded solo album of the year at the Norwegian Folk Music Awards and was nominated for a Norwegian Grammy Award. Frøholm is a modern-day Don Quixote—she brings the past to life. On her third album she investigates the charismatic personalities of the Kjellstad brothers and the great art they created in a corner of north-western Norway. This solo album is a celebration of the life and music of two musical superstars from a bygone age. Frøholm has delved into the rich musical legacy of the master fiddlers and brothers Ola and Ivar Kjelstad from Sunnylven. With uncompromising enthusiasm, Frøholm sheds new light on music that was the soundtrack of north-western Norway at the turn of the 19th century. The musical backbone of the album is traditional and composed tunes from Nordfjord and Sunnmøre, music that surrounded the cultural sphere of Ola and Ivar Kjelstad.
